Hello! My name is Mikaela

I am a Clinical Therapist Resident in training, currently pursuing a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Queen’s College. I am committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth. I am passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and adult clients who are BIPOC individuals as well as racial and ethnic minority individuals working through trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and grief/bereavement.

I have had the opportunity to work with individuals struggling with depression, substance use, personality disorders, and those within the incarcerated population. Additionally, I have experience supporting both victims of abuse and the aggressors. These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding of mental health complexities and reinforced my commitment to providing tailored, client-centered care. Therapy is a collaborative experience and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, validated, and understood.

I prefer to utilize different frameworks, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered models. This allows me to tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs and support their journey toward healing and mental wellness.

Welcome the inevitability of change, for it’s the one true constant in our lives. I look forward to supporting you on your path to healing.
